Detailed Description and Explanation of the Parade – You will also receive our comprehensive Parade description to help you prepare for the big event and better understand it. It will contain the history and a good description of the components of the Parade and explain how it works as a competition.
You will receive practical instructions and recommendations how to get to the Sambodromo, find your sector and what to take. It will also explain how to use your tickets and what it entitles you to.
Picking up your Tickets – After booking your carnival ticket, you will receive e-voucher by email which have to be exchanged for actual tickets once you get to Rio de Janeiro, thru our Hospitality Desk located in Copacabana Beach. Actual tickets are only released by Carnival authorities a few days before the event to avoid counterfeit.
Our Hospitality Desk will be functioning at the Rio Othon Hotel, and tickets may be exchanged from Friday February 12th thru Monday February 15th, 2010 and on Saturday February 20th, 2010 for those who purchased a Winner’s Parade ticket. From 10AM to 5PM, local time.

Tips and Recommendations:

Read the following to protect yourself from fraudulent ticket sales!

Purchase your tickets through a reliable source. (travel agents and hotels)
Tickets consist of two parts, a magnetic card and a paper slip. Double check that you receive both parts. If you buy tickets for the tables or frisas, you also should receive a plastic card to wear around your neck.
Do not purchase tickets from scalpers at the gates.
Do not plan on discounted rates or free admission after the parade has started.
Do not buy used tickets in hopes that they will get you past the guards.

We have carnival tickets for grandstands (bleachers) as well as for frisas (boxes) on Sectors 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 11, for the following dates:

Saturday, February 13th : A-League Parade
The A-League Parade is as great as the Special League, but cheaper. Parade goes from 8PM to 5AM. The two winning schools will be part of the Special League in the following year, so it’s a big competition, almost same level of Special League only for approximately half of the price! If you are not planning to attend a ball that night, get a carnival ticket and enjoy the parade, for less.

Sunday, February 14th : Special League Parade first day
This is the first day of the Special league parade, with 6 schools, parading from 9PM to 5AM. Carnival Tickets for Sunday and Monday are a bit more pricy.

Monday, February 15th : Special League Parade second day
This is the second day of the Special league parade, with 6 schools, parading from 9PM to 5AM.

Saturday, February 20th: Winners’ Parade
Parade from 9PM to 5 AM. The first five qualified schools will parade to celebrate their achievements. This is a great opportunity to watch the show as the schools members are not under any judgment. So it’s really a relaxed and fun party to watch. Plus the carnival ticket is approximately half of those on fierce competition days. We love the Winners’ Parade and we recommend you get your ticket to go see the winners if you are still in town.

Brazil Carnival in Rio de Janeiro

Carnivals in any part of the world are all about fun and colors. A Rio carnival is known for its magnificent carnival balls which are an integral part of the celebration. Scala balls are another famous one where every night is grand carnival party on all days of the Rio carnival. Rio carnival is the best way to witness the magic of samba. Rio Wins Right to Hold Olympics in 2016 – Buy Your Tickets Now!

Now that Rio De Janeiro, Brazil has been awarded the Summer Olympic Games in 2016, it’s important that domain investors keep in mind the words “Olympic” and “Olympics” in relation to sporting events is a highly protected trademarked term. The International Olympic Committee is familiar with the UDRP process, and the USOC has also filed UDRP cases against for domain names that they believe infringe on their marks.

The Brazilian Olympic Committee already owns Rio2016.com, Rio2016.org, RioDeJaneiro2016.org, and they probably believe they have the right to any domain name related to Rio and the year 2016 – even without the Olympic trademark. Whether or not this is true may depend on usage (I am not an attorney and won’t speculate), but whether they have the rights to names or not doesn’t mean they won’t take action to get these names via UDRP or other means.

Last year, the Chicago Bid Committee made an attempt to take control of Chicago2016.com. They own Chicago2016.org, and they felt that the .com should belong to them as well. The owner of the domain name was forced to take legal action of his own to keep it, and as of the present time, the domain name is still owned by him.

If you are thinking about making money trading in Olympic-related domain names, you might want to think again and not take chances with the IOC or any other Olympic Committee.
